Shodo
'the way of writing' is the Japanese art of brush calligraphy.
Shodo and Aikido are closely connected in History and Style,
both require Ki-energy through Kokyu-ho ( breathing techniques ).
10th degree Shihan Seiseki Abe Sensei met O'Sensei in 1952 and
observed that the breathing method that O'Sensei had mastered through Aikido was like the way of breathing of calligraphy.
Abe Sensei saw this as the connection point between these two seemingly different arts and has pursued it ever since.
Mino Osaka has been studying this art through Abe Sensei and is now introducing his art publicly for the first time.
